What we ate for Lunar New Year in Milan Chinatown

The Spring Festival, often known as Chinese New Year, is one of the most important celebrations in China and across much of Southeast Asia. It’s a time for family reunions: welcoming the new year and sharing wishes of luck and prosperity. It’s a celebration that has traveled far, and today it’s felt and celebrated in many parts of the world. Today we’re in Milan to see how this community celebrates New Year here, and, above all, what can’t be missing from their tables. We tasted dumplings, noodles, meat and fish dishes, and a sweet rice dessert. Each dish is symbolic and deeply rooted in tradition.
