Eat Like a Local in a Roman Market

We visited the Irnerio market in Rome, where we met the people who live and work there every day and ate at different food spots inside the market. We followed a simple but tasty formula: buy, cook, eat! We bought fresh ingredients from local stalls and brought them to the small restaurants inside the market, where the chefs transformed them into delicious dishes—then, of course, we tasted everything.
Italian, Thai, and Mexican cuisine, all in one Roman market!
Join us as we explore Irnerio Market, a local food hub where tradition and international flavors meet.

Why Fishermen Beat Octopus at Bari’s Old Harbor

We visited Bari’s old harbor to document the typical Bari breakfast. It’s an ancient spot where fishermen dock their small boats every morning, clean their fresh catch, and sell it. The tradition of eating raw fish is deeply rooted in Pugliese culture, so much so that locals here call it “Bari sushi.”
If you’re lucky, you might also witness the traditional octopus beating, a technique fishermen use to tenderize the octopus meat, making it ready to be eaten raw.
